Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, was there too, standing next to PM Modi. They both showed how important it is to honor Assam’s history and culture.

This whole project started back in February 2022 when the President of India at that time, Ram Nath Kovind, laid down the first stone. They picked a place called Hollongapar in Jorhat for the statue. Alongside the statue, they’re also building a museum and some other things to remember Bir Lachit Borphukan.

So, it was a really big day for Assam, with PM Modi making history by unveiling the tallest statue of Lachit Borphukan and promising more good things to come for the people of Jorhat. It’s a reminder of how important it is to honor our heroes and work together to make our communities better.
